Hosting on Wheelhouse

Rent out your trailer or RV

List your travel trailer, fifth wheel, toy hauler or RV and rent it to guests on your terms. Wheelhouse handles the booking, the payment and the security deposit.

Three ways guests can rent it

Offer one or more on each listing. Guests only see the ones you've set up.

  • Stationary stay

Guests stay in the trailer where it's parked, on your property or at a campground site you've set it up on.

  • Delivery

You tow it to the guest's site within a radius you choose, and set your own delivery fees.

  • Guest self-tow

The guest tows it with their own vehicle and enters its tow rating at checkout, where it's compared with your trailer's GVWR. Motorhomes work as pickup and drive.

Your price, your calendar, your rules

You set the nightly price, cleaning fee, security deposit and minimum stay, and block any dates you want to keep. Pick one of four cancellation policies, from Flexible to Super strict; every booking keeps the policy it was made under. Approve each request yourself, or turn on Instant Book.

Deposits and damage claims

The security deposit is charged with the booking and refunded to the guest automatically about 72 hours after checkout, unless you file a damage claim. Claims are filed from the booking within 72 hours of checkout, with photos and a repair estimate attached. The guest can respond with their own evidence, Wheelhouse reviews both sides, and an approved amount is paid to you from the deposit. A claim can't exceed the deposit, so check that your own insurance covers renting out your unit.

Paid through Stripe

Connect a Stripe account from your host dashboard; Stripe verifies your identity and bank details. Guests can't pay for a booking until that's done. Payments for your bookings go to your Stripe account, and Stripe pays out to your bank on your payout schedule.

Know who's booking

Guests can verify a government ID with Stripe Identity. Requests from guests who have show an “Identity checked” badge, and you can choose to auto-accept requests from verified guests. It's an ID check, not a background check, safety inspection or guarantee. Guests can also message you with questions before they book.

Bring in a co-host

Invite someone to help run a listing: they can handle guest messages, the calendar, accepting requests and check-ins. Payouts, refunds and cancellations stay with you.

The details

Photos, pricing, delivery setup, payouts, claims and local rules are covered step by step in the hosting guide.

Estimate your payout

Put in your own numbers to see what a month at that rate pays out after the 1% host fee.

Each booking adds one cleaning fee. Leave blank for one.

Estimated monthly payout

Enter your nightly price and the nights you expect to book in a month to see an estimate.

Guests pay a separate 5% service fee on top of your price. It's added to their total and isn't taken from your payout.

This is an estimate built only from the numbers you enter, using the same fee calculation Wheelhouse uses at checkout. It isn't a forecast of how often your trailer will book. It leaves out weekend and seasonal rates, delivery and add-on fees, any taxes you owe, and your own costs. It also leaves out discounts, which come out of the booking's payout: ones you set up, and promo codes a guest applies, including ones Wheelhouse issues. Security deposits aren't counted: they're refunded to the guest unless an approved damage claim is paid from them.
